This policy explains how Book Now (booknowtoo.com and the Book Now iOS app) collects and uses personal data. Book Now is run from Dublin, Ireland.
Who we are
Book Now is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@booknowtoo.com.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, and sign-in identifiers from email code, Sign in with Apple, Google or passkeys.
- Bookings and queue activity: shops you book with, appointment times, services, cancellations and no-shows.
- Messages: chats between you and shops.
- Location: your approximate or precise location, only while you use the app, to show nearby shops. We don't track you in the background.
- Website: booknowtoo.com sets no cookies and uses no trackers. When you tap a download button we count the click using only where the button is on the page and your device type (iPhone, Android or desktop). No IP address or identifier is stored.
- Device and notification data: push notification tokens, device type, app version and basic logs.
- Business data (barbers and shops): listing details, staff, client records (CRM), earnings and settings.
Why we use it and our legal bases
- To provide your account, bookings, live wait times and messaging (performance of a contract).
- To show nearby shops using location (your consent, which you can withdraw in iOS Settings).
- To send push notifications about bookings and messages (consent, controllable in iOS Settings).
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems (legitimate interests).
- To meet legal obligations, e.g. tax or law-enforcement requests (legal obligation).
We don't sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
When you book, the shop sees the details needed for your appointment and your messages to them. We also use processors that handle data on our behalf under contract:
- Supabase – database, authentication and storage.
- Cloudflare – website hosting, security and real-time chat.
- Apple – app distribution, Sign in with Apple and push notifications.
- Google – if you choose Sign in with Google.
Data is stored with our hosting providers. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (for example financial records) or need to resolve disputes. Logs are kept for a limited period for security.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account in the app under Me > Settings > Delete account. For other requests, email hello@booknowtoo.com.
You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Children
Book Now isn't intended for anyone under 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you think a child has given us data without consent, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. We'll change the date above and tell you in the app if the changes are significant.
